World Hearing Day 2022

With over a billion young people at risk of avoidable hearing loss due to recreational sounds, the theme of World Hearing Day 2022 “To hear for life, listen with care” signifies that to have good hearing across the life course, it is important to take care of your ears and listen safely.

  • It is possible to have good hearing across the life course through ear and hearing care.
  • Many common causes of hearing loss can be prevented, including that which is caused by exposure to loud sounds.
  • Practicing safe listening can mitigate the risk of hearing loss associated with recreational sound exposure.

To ensure that hearing loss is noticed as early as possible, all people should check their hearing from time to time.
