We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join our Tairāwhiti team.
We are looking for an experienced team leader to manage our small regional team within the wider Connections and Funding team. You will have a key role in linking people with information, community, and financial support provided in the community. You will provide expert support, guidance to the team, and create innovative solutions that enable disabled people / their whānau to thrive.
This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week across five days based in our Gisborne office, with some travel across the wider Tairāwhiti area.
As a Team Leader for Your Way | Kia Roha the successful applicant will:
- Provide expert support, guidance and advice to team members as required to enable achievement of goals and objectives
- Undertake regular coaching to foster positive, effective working relationships.
- Build, and maintain trusting, effective relationships with disabled people, whānau, community and government organisations that support our work and purpose.
- Provide information and connect disabled people and tangata whaikaha Māori to natural, community and financial supports.
- Maintain oversight of workflow and processes to meet contract KPIs and quality practice, while supporting team wellbeing.
- Review all internal applications for support over the standard threshold and provide peer review for colleagues.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience managing / supervising in a fast-paced team environment.
- Deep understanding and/or lived experience of a disability or personal experience as whānau member supporting a person with a disability or within the disability community.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and able to adapt communication skills to the situation at hand.
- Experience working with client management systems, with proven competency at the intermediate ability in Microsoft office products.
- Able to establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels; puts others at ease; promotes harmony and consensus through diplomatic handling of disagreements and potential conflict.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, the Enabling Good Lives vision and principles and how to apply these in practice to increase disabled people’s options and decision making over their support and lives.
- Cultural awareness, particularly in Te Ao Māori and Pasifika cultures.
