Community Facilitator

We currently have two exciting opportunities for Community Facilitators to join our supportive and dedicated team in Whanganui.

No two days would be the same in the Community Facilitator role. You would be responsible for working alongside disabled people and their whānau, linking people to information, resources and services in their community. One role will predominantly be working in the Health of Older Persons service, the other in our Disability Support Service.

These are full time roles, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Start and finish times would be negotiable with the preferred candidate.

As a Community Facilitator for Your Way | Kia Roha the successful applicant will:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the wider disability community, and external networks
  • Bring strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relate to a range of people from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Be creative about how information is reflected to people / whānau supported
  • Be able to problem solve complex situations and develop funding / support packages that provide great outcomes
  • Have IT knowledge and confidence with using databases and Microsoft programs
  • Have a good understanding of the disability sector, The treaty of Waitangi and EGL principles.
  • Current driver’s license preferred (not essential).
