The Otago Association for Deaf Children is a not for profit organization, where families with their children meet regularly to support each other along the journey of raising children with a hearing loss anywhere on the spectrum, mild to profound. We are parents who are working together for the benefit of our Deaf children. We support the children and their families by way of funding assistance for educational programs, assistive devices, sign-language classes, public awareness of Deaf issues and information for families of newly diagnosed deaf children. We also provide regular get together for our families and manage a range of activities that provide opportunities, such as regular kids groups and adult dinners. We also strive to work with other organisations and service providers such as Deaf Aotearoa and Van Asch Deaf Education School.
