Tinihua becomes Life Unlimited’s (Your Way | Kia Roha) valuable community connector

A passion for the disability sector coupled with 32 years’ experience in the field means the appointment of Tinihua Nassar to the role of information advisor at Life Unlimited Charitable Trust (now known as Your Way | Kia Roha) has opened up many opportunities for the community, says Your Way | Kia Roha Community manager April Johnson.

Tinihua started in the role in May and has already used her networking talent to get to know the various community activities Your Way | Kia Roha is involved in around the Waikato, said April.

“She really has hit the ground running and I’m excited about what we can do for our community with Tinihua on board.”

Tinihua was born in Sydney, Australia the daughter of Lebanese immigrants who moved to escape Civil War in Lebanon.

In 1991, she met Willy, originally from Piopio in the King Country, and the couple moved to New Zealand. They went on to have two children and now a grandson.

Hamilton has been their home for 28 years.

“I am passionate about social justice and believe that everyone has something to contribute to community.

“Over the past 20 years I have managed vocational services for people with Intellectual disabilities and believe that everyone needs a place to feel connected, build friendships and have engagement with their communities.”

She enjoys working alongside people to assist them in achieving their goals.

“I also love connecting with other community groups and identifying ways in which we can support each other and share resources.”

She loves watching rugby league and was previously a staunch Canterbury Bulldogs fan, Tinihua has changed her allegiance and now enjoys supporting the Warriors.

Tinihua will be the connector for Your Way | Kia Roha in the community, said April.

“We want to be able to give quality information where and when it matters. That will either be face to face in a personalised manner, or through our networks such as Live Chat on our website, Online Information Hub,
