Life Unlimited (now known as Your Way | Kia Roha) responds to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The safety and wellbeing of our clients, customers, families, whānau and our staff is now, more than ever, a key priority for us in our communities.

We recognise that some of our clients and people we support may be more vulnerable to COVID-19. Your wellbeing is important to us.

In our stores, at our hearing clinics and at the various programmes we run throughout the country, we have a thorough cleaning process in place including soap, hot water, sanitiser and wipes.

Do not be offended if we ask you questions about your recent travel arrangements and/or health. It is all about keeping you and us safe.

Courses involving under 20 are going ahead as planned but we will be vigilant about ensuring any attendees who have potentially been in contact with anyone with COVID-19 or who are showing any cold/flu symptoms do not attend.

We’re following the Ministry of Health’s guidelines around handwashing and cleaning and have reinforced this with all our teams.

We’re also following the government’s requirements around self-isolation for any of our team members who are returning to New Zealand from overseas travel, as well as any of our customers and contractors coming into our premises.

We are supporting our teams with working from home or taking leave if they have been impacted by self-isolation requirements.

In our Mobility Centre stores in Hamilton, Papamoa, Rotorua, Gisborne, Hastings and Lower Hutt, we’re working closely with our suppliers to ensure we have essential products both in the stores and available online.

Our Mobility Centre online service is well set up to help those shopping from home for whatever reason. We encourage those who have never tried shopping online, to do so with us.

We use WooCommerce which comes bundled with PayPal to ensure your credit card information is safe and secure.

If you feel more comfortable ordering over the phone with your credit card details, please ring us on 0800 243 866 and press 1 for Online Store.

If you’re self-isolating, or you’d just be more comfortable with us dropping your products off at the doorstep without any contact, please let us know in your Delivery Instructions in the online checkout.

We are urging people to continue to follow key health advice:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water
  • Follow the Prime Minister’s advice to stop handshakes, hugs and hongi
  • Avoid contact with people who are feeling unwell or may have been in contact with someone with COVID-19
  • If you are feeling unwell at all, even if you think it’s just a cough or a cold, stay at home.
  • The Ministry of Health website is constantly updated with the latest health advice at https://www.health.govt.nz/.

You and your family and whānau would normally take extra precautions during winter to stop yourselves from getting sick, so it is a good idea to start those now.

This could include making sure all medication is up to date and you have some spare at home, buying a little extra non-perishable food at each grocery shop, and making sure you have some close family, whānau, or friends you can reach out to for support.
